Social Development Law of 2024
The Social Development Law of 2024 has been issued to regulate social work, enhance social justice, and provide protection and care services for vulnerable groups, promoting solidarity and sustainable development.
The law specifies eligibility to provide societal protection and services and mandates obtaining a license from the Ministry of Social Development to practice societal work. The law prohibits any person or legal entity from providing societal services to specific groups without obtaining a license from the Ministry.
The Social Development Law of 2024 has been enacted with the aim of improving the quality of life for specific segments of society by providing protection and care services in a participatory and fair manner, while preserving their dignity and privacy. The law also seeks to raise social awareness, promote a culture of solidarity and volunteer work, enhance social responsibility, and encourage private sector participation in achieving sustainable social development.
Under this Law, the profession of social work is regulated and conditions for practicing it are outlined, with penalties imposed on those who practice without a license. The law also regulates fundraising activities and campaigns, setting conditions for obtaining licenses for such activities.
Furthermore, the law punishes anyone who provides social protection and care services without a license, and imposes penalties on those who employ unlicensed individuals in the field of social work. It establishes a fund for social protection and care to finance the care and protection programs provided by the Ministry, in addition to issuing charity lotteries as a means of supporting these programs.
The Social Development Law of 2024 represents an important step towards enhancing social justice and providing a better environment for vulnerable and needy segments of society.
